Homecoming / Family Shabbat

Family Shabbat was a great success, with over 100 people attending.

UMBC students and their families gathered in the Commons Skylight Room for a chance to experience and share a UMBC Hillel Shabbat with their family. All who attended got the chance to partake in Shabbat services lead by Rabbi Jason Klein. After services everyone got a chance to find out about jewish happenings on campus from JSU president Matt Skolnik, AEPi president Phil Graff and Ahayot president Rachel Steinhorn. Later attendees enjoyed a dinner of chicken, kugel, and veggies. But that's not all, after dinner guests were served ribbon cake and e-clairs. It is safe to say that a good time was had by all.

Sukkot

Sukkot this year was September 27th to October 3rd and this week long holiday did not go unnoticed by UMBC Hillel. Sukkot was celebrated by building and decorating the Sukkah and having activities in the Sukkah all week. Activities such as Thursday's pancake brunch, Wednesday's sushi dinner and Monday's Sex in the Sukkah (not literally ofcourse, a program on safer sex).
