UMBC Hillel supports Jewish life on campus by supporting a variety of student groups at UMBC as well as individual or small-group student ideas and initiatives.
The JSU (Jewish Student Union) convenes UMBC Hillel’s student board and is responsible for a variety of cultural, social, community service, educational, and religious programming on campus. The president of the JSU is Jordan Kritt. One special project of JSU is FYSH (First Year Students of Hillel) through which we welcome first year students to campus and encourage them to be involved.
AEPi (mu delta chapter) is UMBC’s Jewish fraternity. It was founded in 2004 and is a member of the UMBC Inter-Fraternity Council. The President of AEPi is Matthew Glassman.
Ahayot, now a Sigma AEPi colony, is UMBC’s Jewish sorority and promotes a sense of community for women. It is a colony member of the Multicultural Greek Council. The President of Ahayot is Erica Williams.
Sabra is UMBC’s group for promoting a greater connection to Israel and Israeli culture on the UMBC campus. You can learn more about Sabra from Eric Eller.
